What are some types of trees would you suggest planting at a property located at 4, 000 ft. elevation some 30 miles north of Ojai, California? That would be other than conifers.

The answer to your question depends on many things, such as the hardiness zone (average temp range), hours per day of sun/shade, type of soil, drainage, wind, what sort of thing you want to grow ( i.e., ornamental, flowers, fruit, deciduous or evergreen, etc.) You would do well to seek out the assistance of the nearest county extension service, which exists to answer just such questions from home gardeners.
