Trees to enhance pond without draining it

We just bought a farm with a pond. We are having all willows cut down to preserve water in pond. What trees will enhance the beauty of pond without draining it? I love evergreen oats….will these work? Thanks!!

Yes, this grass should do well around the pond.

As far as trees go, you might like river birches. They can handle wet soil but will not suck up water like willows do.
