was trying to make a chopping board from tree cutting. would this be safe and what is the rot

This is one of many heartrot fungi. With just this, I will not be able to ID which one. MOST heart rotters are not harmful to humans, but it will give that board some interesting features, as long as it is structurally sound. If it falls apart easily, I would choose a different piece of wood. If it seems sturdy, then it will not likely cause you any problems.
