Q.Transplanting question

Zone Zone 7 | Jeffw added on May 30, 2014 | Answered

I planted about 15 cane in my backyard that were taken from another location. Most seem to be doing well. one died and the other ones have started to develope leaves. However, 3 of the canes only have leaves on the bottom of half of the cane. Should I prune the cane down to where the leaves are not developing? (on the top half of the cane)

Yes, since most of the transplants are doing well, the ones that are producing leaves only on the lower part have apparently died on top, and the dead part can be cut off.
