Transplanting Indian Hawthorne

I recently moved an Indian Hawthorne bush from the front of my house to the backyard. The leaves have all turned brown but the limbs are not brittle. I don’t know if it’s in shock or dead. How do I know if it’s dead?

This article should answer your questions: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/environmental/how-to-tell-if-a-plant-is-dead-and-how-to-recover-an-almost-dead-plant.htm [1]
Make sure to provide plenty of moisture, both for the roots and for the area around the roots, and your hawthorn should pick up.
