I am transplanting hydrangea roots from the parent plant. Do I cut off the stem and bloom when I re-plant?

I do think it would be wise to remove the bloom, stems and any unnecessary leaves that might require energy from the newly divided plant. https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/garden-how-to/propagation/propgen/dividing-plants.htm
