Transplanting & Cutting Back Monkey Grass

A friend gave me some Monkey grass this week. I have already planted it around my trees. I am wondering if I can cut it back to come out new this year since she gave me untrimmed plants. I don’t want to kill them.

Yes, you can cut it back to within 3 inches without harming the plant. In fact, this will actually help with its regrowth. Here is an article that you may also find helpful: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/groundcover/monkey-grass/pruning-monkey-grass.htm [1]
