Q.transplanting blackberry bushes

Anonymous added on September 9, 2015 | Answered

Bought property with over an acre of existing blackberry bushes. We are clearing the acreage to re-establish the bushes on a trellis system. Can we transplant the canes “now” and store the canes in some kind of container until spring planting time and how to store them? We are looking at 100-300 canes and we have 1 gallon buckets available.

I think you'll have better luck with transplanting in the early spring, before dormancy has broken. Here are some articles to help you with general care: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/blackberries/growing-blackberry-bushes.htm
