A friend has a large stand of Edgeworthia and she decided to dig some out on June 3rd 2024. Not the best time of year to transplant but I took some of them. My question is, would it be better to leave them in the pots in shade for the summer or would it be better to plant them in the ground and baby them all summer

I think that it would be best to baby it in container until it is healthy enough to plant. Early fall would be fine if it recovers in time. Here is some information on its care:
