Q.Training Star Jasmine Plants
We planted 4, Star Jasmine plants against our pergola in May – they are growing fast and healthily and are well watered. Some plants have already reached the flat roof of the pergola – which is made up of strips of bamboo with space for the Jasmine to grow through. The stems are now through the roof and continuing to grow upwards, though we want the stems to entwine around the bamboo – do we assist this process or let gravity do its work, and wait for the stems to flatten out on the bamboo roof?

It looks like it is climbing pretty well! It will continue upward, however. I would recommend helping it a little by tying it up with zip ties, thin wire or rope- wrapping it where you can, or any other way you can find to secure it. You might even have to cut some of the upward growth if it get too out of control.
