training Hydrangea seemanii

Hello

A couple of years ago I bought a Hydrangea seemanii to grow on a north-facing wall. It has established well, but I’d be glad of some advice on how to train it to cover the wall. It has one strong main shoot: if I remove the tip, will this encourage it to spread out? If I pull some of it away from the wall (it is strongly attached by aerial roots) and move them to where I want them to go, will they survive and re-root?

The growth of these plants does not normally require any pruning. Prune only to confine them to their designated area. Cut them back a bit if they are growing on a wall, to encourage them to fully cover the wall without projecting too far out from the wall.
