Topping Eucalyptus Trees

I was informed by an arborist a few years ago that ‘topping’ my Eucalyptus trees was not advisable, stating that the tree gets weak and has a better chance of falling and that it’s best to thin the tree to allow wind to flow through. However, in my attempts to find someone to thin the tree, I am being told it’s best to top it. I am confused, can you tell me what is the better method? These are 3 very old, tall trees.

I would recommend having the tree topped, especially if it is tall and close to your home, as strong winds can easily bring down weakened branches. I do not know why the arborist would have suggested thinning as opposed to topping. Call in a professional for this job.
