Too Late To Plant Perennials?

I live in central North Carolina. I finally got my flowerbeds cleared and shrubs planted. Is it too late to plant perennials, or should I wait until August/September?

You can still plant them if they are in containers. You also have to be diligent on watering since it is summertime. If you think you won't keep up with watering, I would wait till fall or spring.
