My tomatoes are cracked on the top. What causes this?

Usually, this is from the soil being too dry, then watered suddenly. Soil will need to, only, dry out down to about 4 inches between waterings, but at least dry down to 2 inches. Anything outside of the 2-4 inch range will be too much or too little water.
