What types of tomatoes can we grow in our own garden that won't have tough skins?

Most types of tomatoes are not thick skinned. Their skin can be affected by water amounts and temperatures. Stay away from varieties that are mostly used for canning or pastes, like Roma and Plum, as well as the crack-resistant varieties.
