Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI live in the panhandle of Florida. I have been trying to grow tomatoes for about 5 years. I am originally from Pennsylvania, where tomatoes grow easily. I have two persistent problems:
1. As the tomatoes ripen, they develop large soft brown or black spots that make them inedible.
2. I purchased a different type of plant this year (heat resistant); the first tomato ripened but now has small black bugs inside.
What can I do? My plants are laden with green tomatoes and I want to eat them when they ripen!

The first problem is blossom end rot. This article will help you with that:

For the second issue, I would recommend using neem oil. We have found it to be effective against most garden pests and it is organic. This article has more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/pests/pesticides/neem-oil-uses.htm [2]
