Tomato Plants Did Not Grow

Same soil as last year. I did the same thing and my tomato plants did not grow at all, but watermelons got huge.

You may have had a tomato specific disease in your soil that stunted or killed the plants. There are are several, such as wilt and blight that can do this. These articles will have some examples of these diseases:
