Tomato blight

I have cleared my patch of tomatoes that suffered with blight. I have dug up the roots and raked over the ground. My question, is it safe to grow other veggies on the patch straight away?

You will need to avoid planting nightshade vegetables there for a year or two. You may want to consider solarizing the beds. This is very effective at killing viruses and bacteria that may be harboring in them and hurting your plants.
