Without a photo, probably not with accuracy. I could take a few guesses and get you started in a direction, though.
If it has been wet lately, then it could be the start of a fungal infection. In this case, you will need a fungicide: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/garden-how-to/info/using-fungicides-in-garden.htm [1]
You can also use DOLOMITIC LIME and WETTABLE SULFUR to help with your issue.
