Q.Timing for planting
I’m interested in purchasing a burning bush for the southwest corner of my home. I live in the NW suburbs of Chicago and would like to know the optimal time to plant it.

You can, actually, plant them in the fall. It may be getting a little late, as it is starting to cool off, but if you believe you have missed the planting time then you may wait until spring.
Here is an article for more information on the care of this shrub: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/shrubs/burning-bush/burning-bush-care.htm
