Q.thorns on kale

Anonymous added on July 15, 2015 | Answered

I noticed small white thorn-like textures on my kale leaves in my garden. They are sharp to the touch. Do you know these are? Is this normal/OK to eat? Is it necessary to treat?

I have heard reports of some varieties having these hairy little thorns. They will not harm you and will cook down in the wilting process.
