thinning watermelon flowers

I have 2 watermelon plants loaded with blossoms and I have been told that I needed to thin them. Please let me know how much to thin.

It is best to wait and see how many flowers actually end up pollinated before you thin them. Once fruit starts to form, remove all but 1 fruit for every 1-3 feet of vine. The further apart to space the fruit, the larger the fruit can grow, but it will also mean that you will get fewer fruit..
