Q.The New Leaves On My Plumeria Keep Turning Black Around The Edges And Fall Off.

Anonymous added on July 26, 2021 | Answered

The plumeria was started as a bare root and is in a pot on my deck. New leaves keep coming out but they then turn black around the edges and eventually fall off. Could it be because the feet are too wet? It was given to me so I don’t know what soil type is in the pot.

Plumeria requires very well draining potting soil, like cactus soil for example. The soil should not be kept soggy and should be allowed to dry out a little before watering again; otherwise, the excess soil moisture and-or environmental humidity can cause root rot, rotting of the trunk, black tip fungus, etc.
