Q.The Bulb Base On My D/R Is Dry Looking And Cracked.
It does not have that healthy green look, it is gray and cracked. I cut it back and new shoots came out and flowered nicely. The new branches look health while the bulb looks the same. After flowering the leaves turn yellow and brown and fall off. Again cut branches back. I have changed the soil in the pot. Attached is a photo. Any help would be appreciated.

Your photo did not come through, but I'm guessing D/R is desert rose. I think the bulb is OK. The plants are flowering. Leaf drop could be caused by overwatering or underwatering. These articles should help:
