ches off? The tree is usually quite healthy but some years some of the outer leaves wilt and die off. It seems to bear heavily every second year and have much less fruit every other year. Any other hints on keeping it healthy would be appreciated. I usually don’t prune it dramatically, just try to keep it compact and open in the centre.

This is an incurable disease known as fruit tree cankers. This can be managed to prolong the life of the tree, but will eventually kill the tree. It can, however, almost lead a perfectly normal life with proper care. This article will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/disease/weeping-amber-in-trees.htm
