internal prolification

Recently, I bought a bag of sweet peppers and all of them had green ‘growths’ inside. I surfed online and came across Amy’s explanation of internal prolification. Was not sure if these were tumorous growths, and if eaten, would cause the same if ingested.

Question: If a fruit or vegetable has a ‘tumorous growth,’ can it cause any abnormal cell mitosis or growth in our bodies if we ingest it? I have enclosed pictures of the ‘growths.’
