Crepe Myrtle Trees

Would like to plant a crape myrtle shrub or tree. I live in Ohio. Temperatures range from 85/90 degrees down to 5/10 degrees below zero. Would they grow in our climate? If so, how should you plant them and when? Must they be covered in the winter?
