Tall Shrub Or Small Tree To Provide Privacy.

Question

Can someone recommend a solution to a screening problem I have.

Essentially a neighbor has erected a loft conversion which is going to affect our privacy. In anticipation of this I would like to plant something that will give us some privacy.

As you can see from the photo. Something that grows to around 4m would be enough.

Other considerations are that it would need to be planted 3-4m from the house. The soil is mainly clay and the fence is north facing.

We would prefer something deciduous so it doesn’t block light in the winter.
