I removed all the fronts because they were laying separate and mushy. I’m thinking it rotted some? It’s hard in the center, it ’s above the soil and I feel like I could split it? Is that possible? Is there a way to save it? I have some kind of wild grass growing around it now!?
Your plant actually looks very healthy in this image.
With the ground cover that you have there; it may be worth checking on the soil moisture levels. Root rot from poorly draining soil certainly would be a cause of mushy leaves.
Propagating or dividing pups from the main plant is how you would generally propagate Yucca.

I have some pods from my sister's plants. Can I grow plants from them or do I have to use the cut leaves?
There are a few ways to propagate these. You can plant the seeds from it, or you can take cuttings. These will have to be small "branches" rather than leaves, though. This article will give you more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/foliage/yucca/propagation-of-yucca-plant.htm
I'd like to cut these down level with the ground or close to it, as they're blocking the sunlight & getting too tall & out of control, but I don't want to if they're not going to shoot back off again, I'd like to grow them again but they're just getting too tall etc.. where I wish i had cut them back & maintained them when they were much smaller. The ground is quite wet most of the time until summer then dries out a lot leaving it really hard. I cut these back a few months ago & a few have sprouted off where I cut, I just don't know if that will happen if I cut the whole tree down, or if they'd survive to grow a new tree again. I really like these plants as they look lovely & need little maintenance.. as far as I know..

Hi, some of the leaves on my yucca plant are being consumed by something unknown - but it leaves behind a red "resin" which turns into a solid amber-like substance. The leaves are slowly dying off but I have no idea how / why / what it causing it! Please see the images attached which should be useful. Thanks for your help! Joel
Scales leave behind a sticky sap. Here is more information:

what best way to remove yucca plant without using harsh chemicals
This is going to be a long, difficult process. They will spread by tubers so removing the parent plant will not be enough.
I would recommend digging the plant out, and tilling or breaking up the area as much as possible to try and kill off the living portions of the roots and tubers. Next, you will want to pour boiling water on the area once or twice a day for two or three days.
With some vigilance, you can get rid of them. This article will offer more information on eradicating this persistent plant: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/foliage/yucca/removing-yucca.htm
horizontally. Can we cut these off and plant in another pot, and what is the procedure? Just want to add - we bring the plant indoors for the winter.
Yes, you can propagate from cuttings. Here's how:

I have had this plants for about a year. Some of the leaves on the taller branch are drooping and all of the leaves on the shorter branch are drooping. Do you know why this is and what I can do about it?
This can be natural, but it does look ready for a careful transplant. This article will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/foliage/yucca/yucca-repotting-tips.htm
