My wisteria has formed buds but these are now dropping off before being fully formed. Can you please let me know what the cause of this might be? Thanks.
If you had a cold spell or a frost, they may have become damaged in the cold. Flowers are much more cold sensitive than the rest of the plant and will be damaged when the rest of the plant is fine.
If you have not had cold, it could be thrips. They attack the base of the flower buds and cause the buds to drop off before they are formed. This article will help if you suspect them:

My wisteria, which is about 12 yrs old, blooms every summer. I live in zone 4 and it is for my zone; however, last summer it produced the most blooms ever and it also reblooms when I cut it back. My question is the seed pods. Should I remove all of them or will they just fall off?
Thank you,
Mary
It will not harm the plant to either remove the pods or leave them on the plant.
My wisteria blossoms are white. They used to be blue. What can I do to get them to be blue again?
Lack of color is normally caused by poor soil nutrition. Have your soil tested and amend it accordingly.
My wisteria is full of buds, some of which are in full bloom, where other buds have just wilted, which is worrying, as I don't know why this is happening. Please advise.
Thank you, Eva
Have you had a cold snap lately? The buds that withered, may have done so if they were touched by frost. Flowers are for more susceptible to cold damage than the rest of the plant. The ones that remained undamaged may have had some protection from frost from a near by wall or structure that gave off enough heat to keep the frost from touching the flowers.
It may also be thrips. If you suspect thrips, this article will help:

I am trying to establish a wisteria on a steel trellis system here in Sacramento. Needless to say the steel gets so hot that it burns the wisteria so my growth rate is very slow. Once it can cover the trellis it should be fine. . . but getting it to do so is the challenge. To cool it off I would like to install a misting system for the afternoon hours. Do you believe this will help or hurt?
It may help cool the bars, but it could encourage fungus to develop on the plant. On the other hand, with it being so hot, the water could evaporate before the fungus had a chance to settle in.
I would say that it is worth trying. Wisteria are pretty hardy, so if a fungus were to develop, in most cases the worst it would do is make the plant look a bit unsightly until the fungus was treated.
My four year old wisteria produced a lot of flower buds this year but they have all gone brown and are not developing into flowers. Can anyone tell me why?
Did you have a late frost in your area? If so, it likely killed the blooms.
How do you get a wisteria to bloom?
