I want to get rid of weeds safely, however I do not want to attract deer!
Yes, it will attract deer, unfortunately. Since that is of concern, you might try boiling water as a means of weed control. It will kill many things on contact, and kill more difficult weeds with a few applications. This method will leave your soil clean for a fresh planting, right away.

Solarizing the area is another option:

Need IMAGES of hitchhiker SEEDS and PLANTS, please. The articles are just- words.... I looked all of the listed plants up by following your links- NOT HELPFUL AT ALL. Trying to find which plant has been shedding its seeds on me.Thx
Hi! I am new to gardening and want to grow organically and use no-till methods. In central Texas. My garden plot became overrun with invasive and aggressive grasses - Burmuda grass and Johnson grass - last year (we didn't garden last year). The plot has been tilled under recently, and the grass hasn't started growing yet. How do I plant the garden in one week and keep these aggressive grasses from taking over? Johnson grass spreads by both seed and rhizome, for example. I've heard advice for covering with newspaper or cardboard, then adding thick compost, then mulch, then planting. Would that be sufficient to kill a good percentage of the grass so that the battle against those that grow through is winnable? With the no till method and re-covering with mulch and compost continually, is it possible to kill this grass from my garden plot for good?
That is, probably, going to be your best method. Be sure to add earthworms between layers, too.

Thanks for the resources! Do you know if this method that I described will over time weaken and kill the grasses and their rhizomes?
The weeds are between a flagstone patio and I have dogs.
As much as it takes until the weeds are dead! Vinegar will be sprayed, straight, onto problematic areas. Salt will be sprinkled, lightly, on the area in need. A drop or two of dish soap in water, or in the vinegar will be plenty.
There should not be a need to reapply, unless it rains.

what type of vinegar? Mix with water or undiluted? how much to spray on a weed?
Typically, this is 20% or higher in concentration, but most people still use 4 or 5 percent as you would find in stores. Undiluted is best. There are some things to know about doing this before doing so, though. These articles will explain in detail:

we are growing vegetables in a small plot, peppers, eggplant and kale.
I would remove, and/or compost them! Leaving them on the ground risks re-rooting, or spreading seeds that may be on the plant.
If I put Round Up down on my soil, how long do I have to wait to put in a flower bed.
The label says one to three days after spraying with Roundup (glyphosate). Check the label for the length of time for ornamentals vs. edibles.
