Old age has me not planting but killing unwanted weeds and ground covering but I have a few strawberry plants and need to know if there is a space I should leave untreated with the year long weed killer so it does not hurt my strawberry plants.
My concern would be drift while you are applying the weed killer. I would leave at least a 2 to 3 foot path around the strawberries.
This plant grows very fast. The roots travel along and more shoots start. The stem is hollow. I believe it may flower. I read that a lady went to Europe and brought back this plant. How can I kill it? Thanks
I thought it might be Japanese knotweed but I don't see any redness on the leaves or the bamboo like stems. Regardless, you can spray it with glyphosate or a brush killer to eradicate it. Be sure to read and follow all instructions.
This stuff is continuous and what efforts I have made to pull it up have been futile. It was not planted by me!
My first line of defense is boiling water! Several applications of this every few days can kill off root systems fairly quickly. This article will help:

Hi, We have just made some borders with sleepers and are looking for a bit of help re weeks. Someone told me that if I fill them with topsoil, then put a weed control blanket down followed by sand this would help. We were then thinking of laying slate chips around the plants / shrubs. Does this work? Sand to help contol the weeds? Many thanks
I'd say a weed control blanket, and and pulling any instances of new weeds will be best. In some cases sand can help, but for some plants, it will be detrimental.

We pulled up the Coltsfoot & since we got a lot of rain, the Coltsfoot is starting to grow back.
Unfortunately, it can be quite difficult to control this plant. There are few chemical methods, but be sure to follow all instructions on the packaging. This article will help:

Without manual cleaning every second month? It looks like as a small green staff. I am looking forward your reply Thanks ahead
It could be chickweed and here is info on removing it. However, since your bed is planted, the best thing you can do is remove it manually, then cover the soil with about 3 inches of hardwood mulch. Once all the weeds are removed, there are products you sprinkle on top of the mulch that will prevent seed germination.
My back lawn is primarily couch but it has been taken over by multiple varieties of weeds due to my recent illness. Could you please recommend the best selective weed killer that will get rid of the weeds but leave the couch intact? Many thanks. John
We don't make recommendations but your local nurseries and home improvement centers might. These articles may help:
