I have a white Sweetspire in my shadier part of my yard and when do cut it back?? Does it bloom on new or old wood?? It is now mid September where I am now...is it too late to cut it back now??Thank you in advance for your help!
They bloom on old wood, so it is too late to prune now. Wait till after it flowers in spring.
What is wrong with my plant? It is too early for it to start turning red for the fall isn’t it?
I would, carefully, inspect the shrub for insects or other pests. This plant is relatively carefree, so any issues might arise from pests. If this is not the culprit, then I would look towards soil pH. Here are some articles that will help:
