There can be several pests or even birds that dine on your Squash Blossoms.
It's also possible that the male blossoms are dropping off on their own, once they are no longer needed for pollination.
Placing netting around plants can be a determent for critters or birds.
Neem Oil can be used for best.

Yes, I know male blossoms show first so don't tell me that. These plants have been in the ground for a month and a half. The squash did well in the same area last year so I don't think it is anything to do with the soil. Can PH change that much in a year? I am using homemade compost. The tomatoes, swiss chard, and garlic are doing well. The squash has plenty of male blossoms and leaves but almost no female blossoms. What can cause this? I need some real troubleshooting help here not just a quick trite throwaway answer.

    Thank you :)

I can see how that would describe the small white one, from the sites I am bringing up, but cannot find a pic identifying the big yellow....or are they a version of the same variety?

    Thanks for the help.

The ants are attracted to young aphids. They will farm them for their nectar. It is likely that your plant has an aphid infection.

This has a very complicated answer. Unless you know exactly what the seed came from, and what the potential pollinators were nearby, then it will be impossible to know what that is.

Because many cucurbits can cross pollinate (like cucumbers and melons and many gourds, including pumkins) it is likely a "mutt" of different species.

The chances of it being edible are very good. If it is not edible, there will simply be no pulp under the shell to eat.

Let it grow, and see what comes of it. Many gardeners accidentally come up with new types of fruits this way.
