Certified ExpertA.Usually you will want to mix in the salt until it will no longer dissolve. This will indicate that there is enough.
I would only give a light spraying, though, since this will likely affect your trees in a negative way as well.

We have heavy growth of Spanish moss on about 5 live oak trees. I read your information about spraying the trees with potassium. What kind of potassium should I buy and where do I purchase it? Also, what is the ratio of water to potassium?

March 18, 2019A.This will be in the form of potassium bicarbonate. You will want to add 1/4 cup per gallon of water.

Certified ExpertA.Any liquid potassium fertilizer will work, but anything labeled "potash" will do the trick.

Certified ExpertA.Generally, this will be at a ration of 1/2 cup per gallon. You may go up to a full cup, but don't do that unless a half cup per gallon doesn't work.
