I am trying to kill Spanish moss and air plants in my live oak trees.
Usually you will want to mix in the salt until it will no longer dissolve. This will indicate that there is enough.
I would only give a light spraying, though, since this will likely affect your trees in a negative way as well.
We have heavy growth of Spanish moss on about 5 live oak trees. I read your information about spraying the trees with potassium. What kind of potassium should I buy and where do I purchase it? Also, what is the ratio of water to potassium?
This will be in the form of potassium bicarbonate. You will want to add 1/4 cup per gallon of water.
I have a lot of oak trees infested with spanish moss I read an article in gardening about killing the moss I would like to try potassium, but can not find a source of potassium spray Any suggestions
Any liquid potassium fertilizer will work, but anything labeled "potash" will do the trick.
YOR WEB SITE MENTIONS POTASSIUM AS A SPRAY TO KILL MOSS WHERE CAN I FIND A POTASSIUM PRODUCT TO KILL THE SPANISH MOSS
We do not recommend places for purchase, unfortunately, but I would say that you could try your local garden centers, or online centers.
You have an article by Jackie Carroll about removing spanish moss by spraying She mentions using Potassium as a spray I have tried to find a potassium spray, but no one knows anything about it Can you help
Strange. Liquid potash should be widely available in most retail stores, garden centers, and online. I would check online vendors if you cannot find any, locally.
I am trying to kill Spanish Moss in my oak trees. Potassium has been recommended as a safe answer. I have purchased 0-0-25 Soluble Potash and need to know ratio to mix for my tank sprayer =.
Generally, this will be at a ration of 1/2 cup per gallon. You may go up to a full cup, but don't do that unless a half cup per gallon doesn't work.
...you can barely see the leaves.
No, that is for insects and disease. Getting rid of Spanish moss is best left to the professionals because it is such a big job. Here is more:
