Hello. I propagated some snake plants from healthy mother leaves. I waited until the offsets were very tall, then separated them from the mother leaves, waited 2 days, then potted them each in separate containers. I am using coir + perlite. Now, all new leaves coming up on the offset plants are green at the bottom but otherwise mostly brown and dry. I water only when soil is dry and plants are near a window. What is happening to the new plants? Thanks

I noticed holes in the leaves of my snake plants as well as philadendrum. Is some bug/fungus eating the leaves? I have taken a number of plants down to my senior center where I care for them and the plants in question are not near each other.
I can't determine a cause from just your description, though it sounds like an insect issue. You can treat all the plants with Neem Oil. Neem Oil works as both an insecticide and fungicide and is organic and safe for people and pets.

Yes, you can prune and even propagate those cuttings.
Here are some links with more information.

I have had a snake plant (and its multiple progeny) for 35 years. For the past several years, new leaves come in look fine and then end up with a narrow, almost round stalk, with only the top couple of inches flat and wider. Even that part is much narrower than the leaves used to be. What is wrong and how do I get it back to having the uniformly broad flat leaves?
This could be watering issues; allow soil to dry between waterings.
Your plant may also not be receiving enough sunlight. A bright east or west window location would be best.

I've had my snake plant for a little over a year, and in the past few weeks the leaves have become wrinkly looking (kind of like avocado skin?) and started folding in on themselves. The little sprouting guy continues to grow well, but I'm worried about the main plant. I've attached pics for reference.
Wrinkled and bent foliage means that you are under-watering.

Hi guys I have this sansevieria witg golden edges. But its new pop ups are green without golden edge. 1.why it happened 2. Can i fix that to get gold3n? Thx
Variegation is a complicated subject. Variegation only occurs within clusters of cells. Those that lack the gene for the production of chlorophyll. They will only multiply in certain areas. If the area that has the mutated cells is part of the new shoot, then it will be variegated to some degree. This is the simplest answer that I can offer on this subject.
Now, the only thing that you can do, is continue to kill off the green only shoots, leaving at least one new shoot regardless of variegation to gather energy at all times, until you get a variegated shoot. Then it will be likely that the leaf will produce new offshoots in the future that will be variegated.
Thx for this answer.
I'll seprate green shoots hoping new ones will be variegated.
well, I re potted my snake plant today because I wanted it in a narrower pot to help it grow straight up, but a lot of it's soil was lost since the pot was a little smaller than the original.I want to know if loosing some of the soil and what looked like some of the roots will kill it? I can't upload any photos right now unfortunately, but hopefully you can answer my question.
If you are concerned with the decrease in pot size, You could always divide some out. It has been my experience that this will not effect the plant negatively.
