Hi, I have a Shasta Daisy growing in a pot that has excellent drainage. I do not have a unheated garage or basement. Will the back of a walkin closet do?
Shasta daisy is hardy in your area. Leave the container outside to winter, naturally.

I planted all of those plants in my garden last June and my husband cut them down to the ground at the end of the season. They have not started growing (coming out of the ground) yet. Do I need to get new plants or be patient? Thank you!
Yes, they should at least have new foliage growing. You are in zone 6 and they are all hardy. It's odd that none of them came back. You might want to have your soil tested.
After their first flush of bloom in summer, you can shear them to promote a second bloom. It is best to wait till after the first frost to cut plants completely back. You can leave them to provide seeds for birds in winter, too.

It is a beautiful yellow Shasta daisy.when can I put the pot out?
You can cut it back again. Wait till the danger of frost has passed in your area to put it outside.

After a day of planting beautiful full of buds Shasta daisies - the next morning something ate the buds and stems down halfway! We have ground hogs but have not seen a rabbit or deer. Wondering what did this and will they grow back and mostly how to protect!
Unfortunately, without photos and some sorts of clues as to what may have visited your plants, it will be very hard to say. It could be insects, or animal pests.
In the meantime, these articles will help you to get started:

I have the daiseys in pots and they get Aprox 6-7 hours of sun
Yes, they are perennial and will have a flush of blooms in early summer. If you deadhead well, they will send up another flush of blooms.

Dray leaves, no more blooms
Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of information or photos to go on. I'm not certain of the watering habits, or if it is in container or in ground. Though, usually, any questions of water will indicate too much, in my experience. A moisture meter may be necessary.

An outside plant. These come every year and flower well BUT only seem to last 10 days or so and then they seem to die from the roots stem/leaves brown. See image So spearheading doesn't yield new colour. Bit frustrating to have a short burst... any ideas why Thank you in advance
It looks like the clump needs to be thinned out. They can get fungal infections from lack of air movement. Also, they need to be deadheaded to get successive blooms.
