I want to try and force a Red Rhododendren to bloom. I am a litle more than a novice/beginner gardener, and I'm sure there's a trick to making it happen.
There is a way to do this. This website will explain exactly how this is done: http://gardening.yardener.com/Using-Rhododendron
Rhododendron plant leaves are yellowing and droopy. Some of the rhodie plants in the same planter area are fine, others yellowing.
This could be tough. Can you include an image so that I can see the surrounded area? If they are all the same type, then It makes me wonder if there is something planted near the affected few that might be causing an issue.
I can better help you if you could upload a photo. In the meantime here is an article for their care: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/shrubs/rhododendron/rhododendron-care.htm
I recently bought some land in Brevard, nc that has a lot of mountain laurel. My guess is that they have never been pruned or fertilized. Some of the plants are 6-8feet tall. I plan on building on the property in a couple of years. How can I prune them now (how so that they recover in 1-2 years.
This article will guide you on this process: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/shrubs/rhododendron/pruning-rhododendrons.htm
Shrubs didn't bloom, healthy leaf growth though.
This could be many things. This article will help you to start narrowing those causes down: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/shrubs/rhododendron/rhododendron-not-blooming.htm
I have a bad infestation of lace bugs. I can use a backpack sprayer but it is very difficult to get the undersides of the leaves. Also the amount of spraying is formidable! Now there are backpack type sprayers that combine the leaf blower function with an insectitide such as neem to produce a fine mist. Some people use this type sprayer to control mosquitoes but I have not found anything regarding lace bug control. I would like to know if this is an effective treatment Specifically, with the air blast does the mist coat the leaves top and bottom sufficiently to kill the larve. If it works it would be much easier to apply. I hope you can help me!!! George Lewis .
It is worth a try! Neem oil is quite viscous, so make sure that what you choose can handle thick liquids. This would be a good way to, virtually, coat the plants.
We have 12 year old plants that were in the shade of large trees. We've had to remove the trees and the plants are now pretty exposed. Will they do ok?'
They don't normally do well when they are exposed. Especially if this happens suddenly. This article will help you in relocating them: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/trees/tgen/transplanting-trees.htm

The leaves on my rhodie plant are yellow. It has many buds, but looks bad with the yellow leaves.
This article addresses this issue and will help you pinpoint the cause.
