    It is a pretty easy plant to care for. It can stay in pots, like full sun and water it when the top of the soil is dry. That is about it. It does not need to be fertilized.

    Yes, this would be the reason for the flowers closing. The plant's main objective is to produce seeds. In order to do this, it must protect its flowers. So, in many plants, the flowers will close in extreme heat and during rain to protect the pollen inside.

    Rose Moss and Portulaca Grandiflora are one and the same. Without a photograph, I am unable to tell you if the plant you are seeing in your driveway is Purslane (Portulaca Oleracea).
