Thanks for you first answer on the purple hull peas, but that is not exactly what I was asking. What I need to know is when to expect them to start setting blooms. They have been in the ground 4 weeks
My purple hull pea plants voluntarily grew from the remnants of last year's crop.
Weather conditions; excess heat or uneven watering could cause issues.
Also these can cross pollinate so you could have a different type of pea growing from this self seeded variety.

Would love to plant vining purple hulls but would be too physically challenging.
We don't, normally, recommend places to purchase. I can recommend trying online resources, like Amazon, Etsy, and Ebay. They usually have vendors with wide selections of plants.
Alternatively, you can try sourcing them from local nurseries or garden centers.
This article will help you know more about them, once you do source them: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/vegetables/beans/how-to-grow-purple-hull-peas.htm
Tree years ago I planted Old Timer Purple Speckled Peas, the 1st. year they came just like the name purple hull, speckled. 2nd. year some came green hull/ tan when dry, speckled pea. Saved some and planted 3rd. year and came same green/tan hull & speckled peas much like the old Whippoorwill pea. I am not complaining I would just like to know if these are a Purple Hull/whippoorwill cross or what. E-mailed seed company they said history was unknown. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.
It sounds like you have obtained all of the information that you can. Your guess is as good as anyone else's! All that you can say with certainty is that it is an unstable hybrid. You will have to cross a few of the progeny, on purpose, to give you clues about what lies dormant, as you know what traits are dominant, now.
