Can anyone offer me some advice? My pumpkins grow healthy to about the size of a small basketball. Then slowly from the bottom (the blossom end) turn white and rot. My vines look healthy. I am in Southern California and our weather has been very hot and humid, so not sure if the weather is playing a part? Please, I would really appreciate any advice/help. Every one of my pumpkins are doing this! Thank you , debplog@sbcglobal.net
It sound like the weather. My pumpkin vines recently died dew to the humidity. I am sorry, but we can't control the weather, and I wish we could!
Great Granddaughter gave me pumpkin seeds. I've managed to grow three greem pumpkins? Will they yellow for Halloween? Why has one pumpkin grown like a marrow? Are they all edible? I don't want the large pumpkin any bigger. If I cut it off will it stay fresh until halloween? I have one more question about my lawn if you can help. I could not water it in the hot weather due to water restrictions. I've raked off 3 bucket fulls of dead dry brown grass. What should I do now to treat it before feeding. Thanks for any help you can give me.
They should yellow by halloween. They are edible and the one like marrow is a different type than your others. If you cut it off now it will rot in a few weeks. For your grass there is nothing you can do to have it grow back before winter. You will have to wait till spring. Also, don't fertilize it now, because it is dead and you will waste time and fertilizer.
How can I keep pumpkins good for fall when they are ready and picked in august?
As long as they're stored right, your pumpkins should make it to fall with no problem. (Even if they're not stored perfectly, they should make it. I've been known to keep fall pumpkins in my house until well into the spring...) This article will tell you more about how to do it right:

Once the pumpkins start to turn yellow, can I pull out the vine to cleanup the garden space?
It is best to avoid moving the vines too much, as they root along the vine to increase nutrient uptake for such a large fruit. disturbing these will delay or even halt the pumpkins production. Here is a link that will further help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/vegetables/pumpkin/
