Why does my prayer plant close during the day and open at night ?
If this plant is receiving too much light, then this can happen. It should receive bright but indirect light. Too much light can cause burning.

I had a big beautiful prayer plant that was doing quite well. I moved and since then she is droopy and the leaves are brown tipped. I have tried fertilizing but the plant is not happy. My question is: if I cut her branches down will it grow back eventually or should I just try new soil and re-potting it? thanks
There can be several reasons for browning leaves on a Prayer Plant.
Make sure the plant is receiving moderate light and humidity.
A plant will often show signs of stress when changing environment.
I would also water with distilled water, tab water often is conditioned and Prayer Plants can build up excess salts in the soil.
Fertilize according to the information in the link below. Do not overfertilize.

Prayer plant was growing really fast in the 2 weeks, so I repotted into a terra cotta pot now after another 2 weeks it has leaves that are sagging down and closed. What do I need to do to revive it? Such a pretty plant.
It should not have been repotted. If the original rootball is still intact, then undo the repotting by removing the soil you added and putting the original rootball back into the original pot. This is a plant that has a small root system that does not like to be disturbed.
If you removed a significant portion of the original soil, then your Prayer Plant may never recover.
My prayer plant’s turning yellow and some of the leaves have some browning on the tips, what can I do?
This sounds like it could be an infection starting. Over watering is usually the cause. These should be watered only after the top of the soil is dry. They like to be fertilized occasionally, as well.
The next time you water, you can use peroxide at 1 part peroxide to 3 parts water. This can help clear up the infection. The old growth will not recover, but the new growth should come out looking normal.

When I cut a stem from my prayer plant, will another stem start growing out of the original plant?
Dividing your plant is the best way to prune a Prayer Plant.
You can trim plants and them propagate a Prayer Plant.

My prayer plant is not doing well in my new home, which has little sunlight, thanks to large overhanging eaves. Will the prayer plant do better on a patio with indirect sunlight in this wet early Texas spring? It has lost several leaves in the 8 months I have been here, and previously it had been my hardiest plant. My second prayer plant died after the move; I have not changed their care in any way, and completed the spring repotting as usual. Help!
Avoid direct sunlight. Outdoors, plant your prayer plant in a warm but shady location. Water your prayer plant so that the soil is evenly moist but never soggy. During the winter, allow the soil to become slightly dry before watering. Maintain the humidity around the plant year-round
