Fruit is dry with no juice. It has blossoms on it now. Are we pulling it too late?
Maybe due to late harvest, but I suspect that the tree is underwatered. Citrus like deep flood irrigation especially when forming fruit; try to achieve 10 or 12 inches of penetration.
Fertilize spring and fall with a complete organic citrus fertilizer.

It could be pomelo fruit which is similar to grapefruit.

I believe I have a pomelo tree in my backyard but the fruit is so bitter that it's inedible. Is there anything I can do to help the tree bear sweeter fruit?
