I live in Palm Beach Gardens Florida and have an odd growth on a pineapple top from public I planted. None of my native Floridian gardening friends have any idea what it is.
This one is interesting! I've never seen this on a pineapple. Typically they prefer decaying wood. This can be adventitious as well. Humidity and higher temperatures can facilitate its growth.
Though it is not directly harmful to your plant, it can be a sign of another infection. If the plant is dying off, then it will be necessary to find out what is causing the initial infection. General fungicides may help for now, but you may need to take samples up to your local extension service for ID of the primary culprit.

Hi, read the article regarding pineapples. It states "unless you live in Hawaii", nobody else grows them. Can I suggest an update. If you draw a band around the earth in that zone, and again in the southern hemisphere, you'll note all the countries that grow pineapples. Here in Queensland Australia, were surrounded by pineapple farms, and they even grow in our back yard. Cheers
Most of the articles on this site are tailored to the US where the company based out of. That is the only place that it will grow in our country. If you provide proper care, then it will grow well as long as the conditions are correct. This articles will provide other places that it will grow. There are many articles on pineapples, so be sure to find one that applies to your area, or general care. Otherwise the recommendations are usually for certain regions of the US. This articles will offer information on other areas where it grows outside of the US:

Hi I have 2 suckers from the mother Pineapple plant that produced a pineapple--yet small. However BOTH sucker plants have no sucker or slips or pups. 1- what should I do the the plant now? 2- will they "do" anything like produce a sucker or slip or another pineapple? 3- is this plant one for the trash?
The mother plant was done and the suckers appear to be done as well. To keep pineapples coming, you can alternate new plants with the ratoons. Here is more:

r it, I have a garage with big window so could put in there what do you think?
That will work if it doesn't freeze in your garage. If it does, keep the container indoors near a sunny window, such as a south or west facing window. Here is more:
