My plant is losing a lot of leaves and has grown incredibly long. How do I restore the plant to its full glory? Do I need to trim it down? It hangs from the ceiling and touches the floor now.
What leaves in particular are being lost? Older plants will start to drop their lower leaves, giving the plant a spindly appearance. Also, if they get really tall they start to look gangly too. I would recommend pruning it back. In addition, I would also review the care of philodendrons via the article below, just to ensure it's getting adequate sunlight, water and fertilizer.

This past winter I brought it in from the cold. It started blooming, then it started losing upper leaves. They would slowly yellow, then fall off. It is spring and since no more frost is here in Louisiana, I took it outside. Been there a couple of weeks and no sign of new growth.
You mentioned what the plant looked like at the beginning of winter - what condition is it in now? What care did the plant receive over the winter in terms of lighting, watering and fertilizing? I am just wondering why it was yellowing and losing leaves.
What are the temperatures outside at the moment? Philodendrons don't tolerate cold temperatures for extended periods.I wouldn't have it outside just yet unless the temperatures are staying 60 and above.
I would carefully prune away the dead/yellowed material off your plant and follow the care plan outlined in the following article:

It was in the car and it was too cold over night. Can we save it?
It all depends on the extent of the damage - what condition is it in? In less severe cases, cold-damaged plants can be saved.
I would get it warmed back up indoors, water it and give it a boost of liquid fertilizer. Prune away damaged areas (if any).
In the meantime, please take a look at the following articles on how to save damaged plants:

My plants were healthy and then the tips of the leaves started to turn black almost like they were burnt. I thought it was the sun since they hang in front of windows that have blinds on them. I'm not sure what to do.
Black tips indicate either an issue with watering (typically under-watering) or fertilizing. How often do you water your philodendron?
If a plant is given more fertilizer than it can absorb, the salts in the fertilizer will collect in the soil burning the roots and causing black tips on the leaves.

We have this plant at work and I took a cutting and planted at home. We are now noticing these bumps on the plant at home and at work. We just want to make sure the plant does not have a disease or anything. Are these normal? They look like brown cones and are about 1/4 inch to a 1/2 inch in size. They are at the point right below a leaf extension from the main branch.
I think your talking about a Philodendron or a Pothos.
This is normal for this plant. This is how the plants attach themselves to a structure or the soil.

I have a philodendron. The leaves are very shiny and healthy. The vines are very long and although the leaves look good, many of the leaves in between have yellowed an fallen off so I end up with shiny leaves, a long empty vine and more shiny healthy leaves. What can I do to not lose the leaves in between?
It may need some pruning, repotting and fertilizer. Trimming back the plant can rejuvenate the plant.
Yellowing leaves can indicate a watering issue, to much or to little.

A friend said it was probably greenbriar. Will it kill me in my sleep?
This appears to be a Philodendron vine.
Do you have neighbors that have one growing on a balcony or windowsill?
