How do I get started. Must I buy a few plants or are there seeds I could buy?
You can buy seeds or plants.
Check with your local garden centers or greenhouses for small starter plants.

I was given some of both, Periwinkle and Solomon Seal and I planted both in the front of my living room window. There is plenty of shade; I just need to know if I need to move one from the other. These are new plants for me so need some help. Just planted 4-9-2019; no photos to share at this time.
I can't find any reasons why you couldn't, but to be safe, you may want to make sure they have just a little room to spread. As long as they aren't planted within a few inches of each other, then it shouldn't cause too much of an issue.
I have periwinkle covering a hill in my yard. It is being overridden by Japanese stiltgrass. I am wondering how to get rid of the stiltgrass ?should I dethatch the periwinkle? Thanks for the help. Jim
Unfortunately, selective post-emergents will be your best option here. These articles will help:

I like to grow periwinkle as a ground cover in a pebble bed about 2 ft wide with a 2 ft retaining wall running about 80 ft long. I like to train the plant to grow up along the wall. I want to use the plant for erosion control. I get full sun in the area, 8 plus hours. I like to grow the plant with a large shrub (6 ft plus tall) for privacy if possible. I know periwinkle can probably overrun other plants, so I guess it is a matter of keeping on top of its growth?
They can take full sun or part shade. Here's an article from the Missouri Botanical Garden all about Vinca major, which grows well in your zone and would suit your purpose: http://www.missouribotanicalgarden.org/PlantFinder/PlantFinderDetails.aspx?kempercode=e212

Please find attached (2) photo's of my periwinkle plants. Is what I'm seeing Verticillium? I've already lost (5) of these plants to the same disease. Thanks !
It appears to be. Either that or a close relative. This isn't so easily treated, unfortunately.

This plant is growing out of our living room carpet There is no smell/dampness It appears healthy Can you tell what it is and should we let it keep growing
Do you have a periwinkle (Vinca minor vine) growing outside? It looks similar to that. Mine moved into the corner of our sunroom. There is no need to keep it. I would pull it out.
Please find attached a photo of my Periwinkle (Vinca) plant. The leaves are shriveling up. What do you think is wrong with it? What can I do about it? Thanks ! Reggie Johnson
I believe this to be related to your tomato issue. Phytopthora will infect many genera of plants and trees.
