Why are the leaves on my tomato and pepper plants curling up?
There are a few things that can cause this. This article is on tomatoes, but peppers are closely related to tomatoes, so whatever is making it happen on your tomatoes, is also affecting you peppers:

Why do I have holes in the leaves of my new pepper plants in the garden? I have lost one plant already. Also, how do I boost the growth of peppers in my garden? Years ago my father had the biggest pepper plants and he got cow manure from my mom's brother right off of his farm. I don't know of a farmer to do that, but I am going to look for one.
It might be slugs or flea beetles. These articles will help:

In terms of big peppers, the manure helps a lot, but if you can't find manure, try coffee grounds. Most coffee shops will save them for you.
We have an approximate 6' x 6' x 12 inch area with, I think, 6 plants total (pepper and tomato plants). They have only been planted for two weeks. The tomato plant in the back left has yellow leaves on the bottom, and the pepper plants in the middle of the planter box seem to have dry and yellow leaves. What could this mean?

My peppers have yellow in the leaves and the ends curl up. I used a soapy insecticide, thinking it was white flies. My cukes are curly too, no bugs on them now. I have all these in a good container with good mixture of soil sand and Mircale Gro. Can you tell me what the problem is? I live in Massachusetts. And it seems the ground is colder longer this year than years in the past. Can you help?
If this is not an issue with pests, I would guess that it's due to a viral infection of some sort, like Verticillium or Curly-top.
What is the problem and cure?
They are likely underwatered. Increase water to the plants. If they are newly planted, they may need extra water just for a week or two until they are established and have grown roots that can find more water on their own.
I was wondering why my tomato plants and my pepper plants are not growing up and out. They are still very short, but they have peppers and tomatoes starting to grow on them.
There are several factors that could be the problem. Pinpointing the right one can be difficult. However, here are some things to try: Check your soil conditions and soil pH (which should be in the 6 to 6.5 range). Chances are this is a soil problem. How's your drainage? Is the soil staying too wet or too dry? Amending the soil with compost can help fix these issues. The addition of fertilizer may be helpful but will not solve the issue itself. Dig or poke around in the soil and check for signs of pests (such as grubs). Inspect the plants for pests as well. How much sun are your plants getting, etc.
