why did my okra wilt down after a rainstorm?
Simply the weight of rain can wilt down plants. Most likely the soil did not drain quickly enough. If the soil retains water and doesn't drain fast enough the plant can't 'breath'. The roots can die from root rot.
What are the bumps on okra pods, and are they still edible?
Unfortunately, the cause of this isn't known. All research points to this being safe. If you are still concerned, then you may throw them out. This will not hurt you, though.
When is the best time to harvest the seed and how?
I have always left a few pods for longer than normal for seed production. Right before they start trying to split, pluck them and let the seeds dry in the pod. Here is an article that will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/vegetables/okra/how-to-save-okra-seeds.htm
Does Okra return the following year or should the plants be uprooted and disposed of?
These are annuals and will have to be replanted every season. This article will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/vegetables/okra/planting-okra.htm
Hi, My plant has given out so many buds but it’s not flowering. It’s been very long and they look like in the picture for long. It’s giving new buds but not blooming. I’m growing this from seed and after that has only given some 3 okras. Should I be feeding this regularly. As of now I put compost once in 2 weeks and nothing else. I don’t like giving chemical fertilizers. I also sometimes spray Epsom salt water. Let me know if I need to do anything more. Thanks, Poojitha
Okra do not like to be fed very often. As native plants of Africa, they prefer poor soil, and little nutrients. They also like to be a little dry in between waterings.
I noticed that there have been some leaves cut off. This can affect the flowering as well. Let the plant grow naturally for the best results. It still looks young. I would give it time. The first flowers won't open sometimes and this is ok.

Hi - I am growing okra plant in a container. The plant has been producing good okras and harvest every other day. I am noticing that the okra leaves look dull and are droopy. Some of the leaves are yellow as well. I still see okra flowers. I water the plant whenever the soil looks dry.
This is likely a watering issue, wither too much or too little.
Make sure soil is moist but not soggy, and not to dry.
