My neighbor planted monkey grass on her fenceline and now it is spreading into my yard faster than I can pull it out. Someone suggested that I dig up the the fence line and put a barrier in, but my yard slopes toward the fence and I'm worried about drainage. And the monkey grass has grown through the weed cloth that was put down. Any suggestions on a barrier or whatever else I could do?
A rubber or plastic edging barrier would work. They normally sell them at the big box stores in rolls. You can also use boiling water on the escaped plants. Boiling water will kill any plant that it comes in contact with, so make sure if you use it, it only hits the plants that you want to kill.
Our Monkey grass is well established and is growing outside the intended area. What can I use that will effectively stop it from spreading to unwanted areas? Will 'Liquid Edger' work?
A rubber or plastic edging barrier would work with keeping them in bounds. You can use boiling water on the escaped plants. Boiling water will kill any plant that it comes in contact with, so make sure if you use it, it only hits the plants that you want to kill.
The monkey grass in our outdoor courtyard is very yellow. There is new growth coming in in most of it, but the grounds people swept the undissloved ice melt into the flower bed. What is your suggestion?
The the salt in the ice melt is probably hurting it. I would up the watering of that area to help dilute and leech out the salts and the plants should improve.
I bought two pots of monkey grass (liriope). Should I set the whole bunch of grass out, or can I split the bunches?
We just transplanted some variegated monkey grass. It is the end of May in Memphis, Tn. Can we trim it now or do we need to wait till next year to trim it up?
Yes, you can. In fact, this will actually help them focus energy on establishing new roots. This article will help:

I know to cut back to level ground in late Jan, early Mar. When do I divide or replant?
You can divide monkey grass anytime from spring through fall.
Is it possible for monkey grass to thrive if transplanted to hanging baskets? I thought they would look beautiful hanging.
While I haven't tried it, the thought had crossed my mind as well. As long as you give it suitable soil, keep it watered, and provide the same or similar growing requirements, I don't see why monkey grass couldn't be grown in a hanging basket.
