Can you incorporate three Loblolly pines into a larger berm? How far apart do Loblolly pines need to be planted?
Considering these trees when mature can top 115 ft, and have a characteristic broad sweep of branches. Leave 15-20 feet between the trees. It will allow for both their size and for good air circulation as they mature. It makes them much less susceptible to disease. It will also allow you better access if you should need to treat them for insect damage or disease as they mature.
our 5 month old loblolly (10' tall) needles suddenly turning yellow. We live in a very, very hot and extremely humid climate of east Texas. 100+ dgr days with mid to upper 70 dewpoints. Problem is when u search online for answers, one post can say overwatering, another, not enough. Or wind damage, or its normal. Kind of like a side effect of nausea, well, that can cover almost every illness. Any help would be great, we love our new loblolly "Robert" and are concerned. Finger in soil test feels hot and kinda, somewhat damp. Thank you in advance!!!
This looks to be a case of overwatering, which has led to fungal infection. Make sure to, only, water during drought. Make sure that the soil is completely dry down to about 3 or 4 inches between watering.
Since you are well within their growing range, the climate will have very little to do with their decline, however, if the soil is too compact or has too much clay content then roots can suffocate and rot.
Your best defense will be a combination of fungicide sprays, and biofungicide additives to the soil.

I want to cut it down before it falls down. Should I burn all the wood?
This is a situation that requires some special attention. You may want to down and burn the tree according to the laws in your area. Treating, yourself, would not be recommended.
Your local extension service or termite control will be your best option.
